Shelbina voters will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to decide on a whether or not to pass a restricted sales tax of one-half of one percent for maintaining, creation or repairing streets, sidewalks, curb and guttering throughout the City.
Although this is a new tax, it would go into effect just after the Transportation Development District tax has gone off the books for the Highway 36 four-lane project.
The hope of Mayor Al Dimmitt and the city council is to generate more funds to get more done each year with street and sidewalk improvements.
