Shelbina City Clerk Tim Lacy’s request for trees was granted this year. Lacy, who had requested trees the last couple of years from Forest Relief of Missouri was turned down, but this year, he asked for fewer trees and his request was granted.

The old saying “the third time is a charm” worked for Shelbina City Clerk Tim Lacy. He had requested trees from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, a non-profit organization based out of the St. Louis area.
Forest ReLeaf of Missouri operates the only nonprofit community-assisted tree nursery in the region. Since its inception in 1993, more than 150,000 trees have been planted throughout Missouri and Illinois.
“We lost a bunch of trees out at the lake at several of the campgrounds. This is an opportunity to replace several of those trees,” Lacy said.
