Shelbina Police Make a Couple of Drug Arrests

The Shelbina Police made a couple of drug arrests recently.
   The first one took place on Nov. 20, as officers from the Shelbina Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for exceeding the posted speed limit.
   An investigation during the traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Shayla M. Pelo, 28, of El Paso, Ill. for possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana.

Construction is well underway for the new Hines Performance Parts building that will be located on the east side of South Center Street in Shelbina. Construction of the steel beams began last week and work continues to push ahead as the structure starts to take shape. The building, owned by Kenny Hines, will not only house Hines Performance Parts, but will also house an insurance business and possibly an additional business as well.   8497 1647 11/23/2016 hdl

Shelbina City Council to Meet Tuesday

The Shelbina City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 today (Tuesday) at the Shelbina City Hall.
   Since the Shelbina Weekly is coming out a day early this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the article will not appear until next week’s issue.
   The Council will be getting an update on the City improvement project with the replacement of the water and gas meters throughout town, as well as the replacement of the street lights with more efficient lighting.

Shelbina Man Suffers Moderate Injuries in One-Vehicle Accident

A one-vehicle accident resulted in moderate injuries to a Shelbina man at around 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.
   According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 59-year-old Matthew A. Lorey was driving south bound on Route EE, four miles southwest of Monroe City in a 2003 Kenworth concrete mixer when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.
