Demolition Phase Moving Right Along as Houses Come Down in Shelbina

The City of Shelbina has been working on its Demolition Grant for months, wading through all of the required paperwork and steps that need to be taken before the actual demolition can begin.
Countless hours that Dennis Klusmeyer, Tim Lacy, Rob Trivette, Mayor Al Dimmitt and the council have put in on this project is finally coming to fruition. The public is finally getting to see the results first hand as many of the dilapidated structures around town are going away.
The clock started on July 18 for Holman Construction to be able to come in and knock down the structures and haul them off.
It quickly became apparent that once Holman Construction got to town, it didn’t take them long to get things done.
They have removed several of the structures so far and left those areas looking spotless. If it wasn’t for the fresh dirt that has filled in basements, it would be hard to tell if a house had stood in the spot in the first place.
Work will continue and hopefully some of these spots will be filled with new houses, garages, or made into nice lots and yards throughout Shelbina.
